Project 3....CH2M HILL and the DREAMERS!!! :-D
This project was a lot of fun!!!! I really enjoyed getting to meet and know the kids before and the day of our Science Camp @ Metro. Meeting with them before the day camp, we were able to help them with their homework as well as coaching them in basketball for their game against Mr. Peter's class. The game was so fun to watch. All the Dreamers tried their hardest to win and you can tell they took it very serious. It was cool to see how receptive they are to advice, coaching and open in speaking with us. At the basketball game I got to meet Alondra and her friend Veronica. Alondra is a cool kid, she was very open and willing to allow me to get to know her. She wanted to know everything about our school :-D If our gym was bigger than there's or if our cafeteria was bigger than theirs...I told her that we didn't really have a cafeteria where we can get free food like they do in middle school but I told them that we had a food court with a McDonald's and Subway and her and her friend thought that was really cool and wish their cafeteria was like that....but if they only knew that eating at the food court everyday can get pretty expensive and unappetising after a while...lol...They're coo though, they asked a lot of questions and seemed very receptive to having a role model or someone older that they can really relate to and look up to...especially Alondra being that she's the oldest and all.
I also liked the team a was with during the Science Day Camp....the PINK team...lol! It was fun to see them interact with the teachers and ask them questions about engineering and sceince that related to things in their life. After the Engineer Multi-Media Presentation station, the teacher had mentioned that it takes about 6 months or so to travel to the moon, so I told Joshua (the only boy in the pink team...lol), "You can be an engineer and maybe build a supper fast space ship and you can tell your mom, 'I'll be back, Im going to the moon but I'll be back in time for dinner ok?' he laughed. It was a lot of fun talking to the Dreamers and hanging out with them that day! I wish it was a week long event! That would of been tons of fun! Can't wait to see them again! :-D Thanks for this opportunity Alumni friends!!!!!

Project 2.....Needs Assessment
I liked this project...it was a lot of hard work but i liked it because our team was able to help El Centro Humanitario Para Los Trabajadores in one of the areas they needed the most...gathering tools to train their day labor workers to gain more skills and to help them receive a stable job and out of homelessness. It was fun coming up with ideas with Brooke at the Student Activities Office and organizing the tool drive for El Centro. At the end of our project we got a good amount of tools and a great increase in our money and the extra tools we bought for El Centro. It was cool. I really like organizing/helping out with non-profit & fundraising events.
For those who donated tools, THANKS to our mentors at the Alumni Relations Office for helping us, thanks to all the students/faculty members, thanks to my mentor Amy and thanks to those outside of our campus who helped with this event as well! Thank You All!!! :-D
